NORTH Cornwall’s motorists are set to face a 45 mile diversion thanks to upcoming road works.
From March 3 to March 22, drivers using the A39 after 7pm will instead be led along a diversion spanning more than 45 miles, adding an extra hour onto their journey time.
During the 19 day period, Cornwall Council’s roads team will be undertaking maintenance and repair works between Treskinnick Cross and Wainhouse Corner. Work will be carried out between 7pm and 6am.
Due to this, drivers wanted to travel the stretch during this period, will instead be diverted a total of 45.2 miles.

Motorists traveling north along the road will be expected to divert along the A395 towards Launceston, before being sent up the B3254 towards Red Post, along the A3072 through Stratton and finally back along the A39.
