THE MP for North Cornwall has praised the work of Devon and Cornwall Police after a planned rave was stopped.
Devon and Cornwall Police reported that a planned rave at Davidstow, which they had received prior intelligence of, was prevented prior to it taking place.
The MP said that after the previous illegal rave at the site, which had taken place in 2022, police met with community stakeholders to create a plan of action in case it happened again; adding that this plan was put into action for the successful prevention of another event.
He added that in his view, organisers of illegal events in North Cornwall were not welcome.
Hailing the efforts of Devon and Cornwall Police, Scott Mann, the MP for North Cornwall said: “Following the last illegal rave on the Davidstow site, Devon & Cornwall Police met with community stakeholders to ensure there was a plan of action in case it ever happened again.
“These plans obviously worked, and I'm very pleased that an attempt to hold another illegal rave over the Easter bank holiday was broken up before it started.
“Excellent work by Devon and Cornwall Police who should be commended.
“My message to anybody planning illegal events in North Cornwall is simple - you're not welcome.”
