A GROUP supporting the mental health of local men in Bude has celebrated its second anniversary.

The Bude Wellness Warriors are celebrating their two year anniversary this February and are now calling upon the men of Bude and the surrounding area to come together and support each other in becoming the best versions of themselves.

The group was the brainchild of Steve Hudson who, following his own fitness and mental health journey, wanted to create a community group where men can come together for fresh air and exercise in nature, share their stories and discover holistic approaches that will help improve their health and wellbeing.

The group meets every Saturday morning for a cold water dip at Bude Sea Pool and the second Sunday of the month for a hike around some of the most beautiful parts of the county.

The Wellness Warriors have also set up stand alone wellness sessions where members can dip their toe into a range of different wellness activities which aim to improve general health and wellbeing including yoga, breath work, meditation and more.

Steve said: “After suffering a period of bad mental health and having been diagnosed with a serious autoimmune condition, I decided to look into ways I could heal myself and discovered the importance of the mind and body connection and spending time in nature.”

“During the pandemic I also became aware of the struggles other men were having and I wanted to provide those that wanted to help themselves opportunities to connect with likeminded people”.

“By coming together we can help each other become stronger in mind and body and increase resilience in what is a very challenging time for everyone”.

The Warriors will be announcing new wellness sessions soon.
