I find it almost amusing that all of a sudden our dormant Tory MPs appear to have sprung to life in relation to the farm inheritance tax changes. I’ve even seen them branded as “heroes” for speaking up for farmers.

Let us not forget that it was those same, regularly absent MPs who failed to defend the farming community in recent years, botching the transition from the EU payment system, voting through cheap trade deals with countries on the other side of the world, and an Agriculture Bill that fails to protect food standards and undermines our high British farming standards. It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious.
