NEARLY 200 houses have been given the go-ahead on 9.95 hectares of land at Hay Common, Tavistock Road, Launceston
Bovis Homes first applied for outline planning permission for the site at Stourscombe in October 2019.
The site slopes southwards from the A388 towards Lowley Brook and is in an area of recent and ongoing development. The site will be accessed from Tavistock Road.
The development will primarily be two storey, with some two and a half storey, buildings ranging from two bedroom apartments to four bedroom homes.
There will be a series of open space areas for children’s play and an area to the south of the site will be set aside for a relief road.
The development has been designed in association with the West Country Land residential proposals on the land to the east. Launceston has been identified as one of a number of principal settlements in the Cornwall Local Plan with up to 1,800 homes to be built between 2010 and 2030.
