A FIRE station in North Cornwall has provided a special experience for a deserving local.
Launceston Community Fire Station welcomed six-year-old Fox this week to give him the full tour of the station’s facilities.
Fox’s mother put out the call to see whether any local fire stations would be interested in letting her son come and see their fire engines after spending the last few weeks in hospital.
She said: “My six-year-old has been in hospital for the past couple of weeks and has been a real trooper. He’s asked to see a fire engine so I would like to try and make it happen.
“He has been through two brain surgeries and been stuck in bed since Monday.”
Answering the call and wanting to offer a unique experience, Launceston Community Fire Station invited Fox to the facility.
A spokesperson for the station said: “Yesterday we had a very special visit from little Fox.
“Fox has been in and out of hospital over the past couple months, his wish was to see a fire engine when he came home.
“Fox’s mum reached out on Facebook and of course we wanted to do everything possible to make Fox’s dream come true
“We had the best morning showing Fox around the station and fire engine.”
During his visit, fox got to dress up in fire gear, sit inside a fire engine and even have a go with the fire hose, offering a truly memorable experience.
