A NUMBER of local residents have celebrated as the ribbon to the newly refurbished hall at Yeolmbridge was cut.
The opening of the upgrade of the kitchen and toilet to make them accessible to all was officially marked on March 15 by Cllr Adam Paynter, Cornwall Councillor for Launceston and North Pertherwin, who cut the ribbon.
Phil Rogerson, treasurer of Yeolmbridge Club, said: “We now have a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge, dishwasher complete with all stainless steel units including a warming cabinet and hot drinks boiler.”
The toilet, inside the club hall, has been upgraded to assist with disabled access and baby change facilities have been installed. The ceiling height has been lowered, to improve insulation and lower heating costs combined with improved and high efficiency lighting.
There is also now free internet access within the building.
Phil added: “The club would like to thank all those organisations who supported this project and made it a success including the DEFRA Jubilee Fund, ACRE, Cornwall Community Foundation, Werrington Estate, and Adam Paynter via his Community Chest Fund, plus the builders, electricians and floor layers along with all those who volunteered to assist with the installation in any way.”
