A NISSEN hut on land north of Trelash Farm, Warbstow can be demolished to make way for a home. A Whitstone woman has asked for pre-application advice on her plan to replace the hut with a three-bedroom bungalow. According to the application, if approved, it would be a self-build for a local person who owns land in the village and has to travel daily to Trelash to care for livestock.

THE HAWKEN family have applied for permission to put a timber-clad caravan with a synthetic slate roof on land at Penwenham Farm, Trelash, Warbstow.

The established dairy farmers have recently increased their dairy herd as well as setting up beef and sheep enterprises on the holding to diversify income. They plan to put the two-bedroom caravan on the farm for three years to accommodate an additional agricultural worker. This will allow the new enterprises to grow to the point where they are sufficiently established to support an additional permanent dwelling.

It is proposed to put the unit in the north-west corner of the farm away from the main farmyard due to increasing concerns over rural security and theft of animals.

ADVICE has been sought as to whether planners would support the construction of an extra property in the rear garden of Trefusis at Pipers Pool.

PERMISSION has been granted for an industrial storage building on land east of Phoenix House on the Scarne Mill Industrial Estate, Launceston.

OUTLINE planning has been granted to build a house on land west of Tile Yard Cottages, Bridgerule.

UP TO three houses can be built at Elm Park on the access to Waingates Farm, Stratton. Outline planning has been granted.

JOHN FOWLER Holidays has withdrawn its planning application to site 149 holiday lodges at Widemouth Bay Caravan Park. Poundstock Parish Council had objected to the application saying the design, layout and density of the lodges was an overdevelopment of the site and risked creating a precedent. It did not feel that the development, which would become a wholly permanent static caravan park, respected the sensitivity of the area.

AN ‘AFFORDABLE-led’ housing development of eight semi-detached and detached properties on land east of Suncrest, Helstone, Camelford has been turned down by Cornwall planners. The refusal notice said the proposal would constitute housing development in a rural location outside the Camelford development boundary.

The location of the site would depend on the use of a car and was contrary to the Camelford Neighbourhood Plan. Planners also pointed out the scheme was not considered to be affordable housing led with the proposed size of the properties failing to reflect the identified affordable housing need for the parish.

TWO BUNGALOWS can be built on land at Langdon Cross north of Launceston. The site is a green field between two dwellings with farm access to the fields behind.

THREE detached houses can be built on land northwest of Bramleys, Stratton – the development will include a new private access lane and garages.

A SCHEME to build five detached houses on land north of The Nook, Morwenna Road, Shop, has been turned down by planners. The refusal notice said the site was located outside of the built form of Shop and represented an undesirable extension and intrusion of the settlement into the adjoining countryside.

AN OLD farm building in Shebbear can be converted and extended into commercial kitchen space for Jax Cakes ‘N’ Bakes to prepare food for off-site events such as weddings. A neighbour objected saying the applicants had no access rights across the drive for commercial use which would cause nuisance and an extra burden on maintaining the driveway. Planners acknowledged a nearby property and restricted the use of the premises to between 7.30am and 7.30pm.

TORRIDGE DISTRICT Council has refused planning permission to convert a barn and storage unit into a home on land at Lower Upcott, Holsworthy.
