SOME of the South West’s future equestrians have been enjoying a special awards evening at Strawberry Fields.

On February 21, members of Lamerton Pony Club came together to celebrate their success throughout the previous year.

The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth charity for young people interested in horses, ponies, and riding. Founded in England in 1929, there are now around 330 Branches and 300 Linked Riding Centres in the UK alone.

Following their celebration, which saw riders receive awards and certificates, Lamerton’s branch of the organisation by a meal and a fun game of bingo.

With a current membership of 44 young peopled aged from three to 16, the group hopes to nurture sportsmanship alongside riding ability and confidence.
