A GROUP from Holsworthy has been able to experience the excitement of the Royal Ascot races.
The Hat Shop, based in Holsworthy, along with the guidance of Emma Baker at Holsworthy Travel, organise a three-day trip to Ascot, including a visit to Windsor and Bath — and the group have just enjoyed their third annual trip.
This year, 17 guests attended with creations made by Kerry from the Hat Shop.
Kerry’s own creation depicted the 100-year commemoration of the end of the First World War.
The idea came at the beginning of the year, but the actual hat wasn’t made until the Monday of Ascot.
It was photographed many times and received many positive comments.
Along with this poignant creation, Kerry also helped create the ‘support the dairy farmers’ hat a few years ago, which was photographed by the Daily Mail.
With the Hat Shop celebrating its tenth year this year, Kerry’s commemorative hat created for this year’s Ascot is one to be remembered.
Kerry said: “The trip enables me to experience the vast millinery skills and pick up ideas for future projects.”
