AN afternoon of musical magic has raised hundreds for this year’s Poppy Appeal in Launceston.
On Sunday, October 27, crowds filled Launceston Town Hall to enjoy an afternoon of fantastic performances in aid of the 2024 Poppy Appeal.
The concert saw Launceston Town Band accompanied by the Launceston Male Voice Choir, Adam Hinks and had the pleasure of being attended by the mayoral party, the Standard of the Launceston branch of the Royal British Legion and members of the public.
Putting on a show for all in attendance, with a variety of styles and genres on offer, the event raised a total of £500 for the appeal.
A spokesperson from Launceston Town Band said: “The band would like to thank its many supporters who heard a variety of music of various genres which was warmly and enthusiastically received by all present.”
The event was also supported by a local supermarket, with refreshments for the interval being provided by members of the band and biscuits kindly donated by Tesco.
Member of the band, along with the training band will attend the annual Armistice ceremony in the town square.
The group is also preparing for its annual Christmas concert in the Town Hall on December 1.
