THE Mayor of Holsworthy has praised all those who made Holsworthy’s Christmas light switch-on a resounding success.

Councillor Nigel Kenneally said that it was made a magical evening which he’d heard wonderful things about - and praised the volunteers, town council and Jon Hutchings for their role in making it happen.

The event featured a wide array of festive entertainment, free of charge to those in attendance.

Cllr Kenneally, the mayor of Holsworthy said after the event: ‘’Although, I was unable to attend Holsworthy’s Annual Christmas Switch-on, on Saturday, November 30, I’ve heard wonderful things about the event. The highlight, of course, was the appearance of the real Santa himself, bringing joy and gifts to the Children of Holsworthy.

“There were lots of free things for people to do and see, such as fair rides for the younger family members, snow globe, silent disco, bucking reindeer, stilt walkers, in addition to a Christmas market, food and much more!

“There was live entertainment by Holsworthy Town Band, Holsworthy Youth Club and Holsworthy Primary School, in addition to a wonderful performance by the Hummingbirds.

“The lights were switched on by Santa and a father-daughter duo, which was selected by Santa in a raffle.

“I would like to give a huge thanks to Jon Hutchings, the staff of Holsworthy Town Council, Councillors and all the volunteers that helped make it a magical evening!’’
