RESIDENTS of North Cornwall will have become accustomed to repeated and regular closures of the B3362, the road which leads drivers over the Tamar via Greystone Bridge.

This week, drivers have once again been met with the erection of signs purporting its closure, however, there seems to be no work being undertaken.

So, when is the road closed? What is the proposed diversion? And when will it be open again?

South West Water are undertaking works along the stretch which will see a closure enforced to motorists. Despite the signage which has been used suggesting the closure began on October 13, the water provider has explained that the road will be closed during the following periods:

Sunday, October 20 - between 8am and 7pm.

Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22 – between 7pm and 7am.

However, the company has also explained that not only will residents have full access during these times, the closure should not affect bus services which usually access the route as an agreement has been made to allow limited access for buses.

Those who use the route over the Tamar will instead be faced with a lengthy diversion, stretching a huge 27 miles.

Drivers in Cornwall are set to be diverted towards Callington before heading up the A390 to St Ann’s Chapel, Gunnislake and back on the B3362 towards Milton Abbot.
