PLANS for the modernisation of the historic Camelford Town Hall have come a step closer after successfully securing a grant to progress the plans.
Camelford Town Council applied to the Community Capacity Fund Cornwall to secure money to pay for architects to oversee the planning permission application and achieve RIBA 2 classification in order to submit the application for future funding in order to make the plans a reality.
The proposals at present involve extending and refurbishing the community hall, which is also home to the town’s library and council.
A spokesperson for Community Capacity Fund Cornwall said: “We are delighted to announce that Camelford Town Council has been successful in their application to the Community Capacity Fund for a grant to support their community project to extend and refurbish Camelford Hall.
“The grant will fund architects fees for planning permission and achieve RIBA 2 in order to submit their application for future funding. Full details of the proposals can be accessed via the Camelford Town Council’s website.
“This application is located within the North Cornwall Community Area Partnership We would like to wish Camelford Town Council the very best of luck with their future project.”
