ON behalf of Launceston Detectorists, the chairman Keith Sampson presented a cheque for £235 to the local MS support group, Plymouth and Tamar Valley MS Society.
Keith was joined by Hilary Straw, the area organiser, and Helen Cherry, the England Council Member for the MS Society.
Launceston Detectorists held an open evening recently with a raffle and prize draw raising funds for the MS Society.
Keith said: “This charity was chosen as one of our landowner partners was recently diagnosed with MS (Andy Reeve at St Leonards Equestrian Centre).
“I would like to mention the support from our sponsors, Philip Warren and Son, butchers, Dee Burgers at Firebrand, Pennygillam, and History Finders Ltd in Totnes, Devon, whose contributions and support helped us achieve the donation total, and Andy for allowing our many detecting sessions on his fields.”
Plymouth and Tamar Valley MS Support group are based in Plymouth, holding regular meetings for the benefit of MS sufferers in and around the Tamar Valley area.
Keith added: “I would hope this article will help raise the profile of both our club, Launceston Detectorists, and that of our local MS group.”
