LAUNCESTON Community Market has expressed its support for a vital town facility.

In 2022, the decision was taken to close Launceston Community Leisure Centre, leaving the town and its local community without the health and fitness facilities.

However, following this, a company was formed to make sure the facility is able to be there for residents. Thecentrehas now also been registered as a charity.

To ensure the centre continues to provide a variety of classes and facilities, the community market has committed its support.

The community market raises money for local charities and good causes, and welcomes suggestions from local residents.

Recently, members of the market provided a £200 donation to the leisure centre.

A spokesperson from the community market said: “The Leisure Centre aims to provide facilities for users of all ages and abilities. If you’re unsure of any of the facilities or would like to talk to them about a sports club, a school or an individual visit then please get in touch with their friendly team – they are here to help.

“The Community Market raises money for local charities and good causes. If you would like to suggest the next one, pop into the Market on a Friday morning at Central Methodist Church Hall.”
