IN order to facilitate an electrical upgrade, members of St Giles on the Heath Coronation Hall have been fundraising in various ways.

Events have included a bingo night which was held in the hall on Wednesday, December 13, Vintage teas and a ‘Wine and Wisdom’ evening.

Run by David Bowyer and fellow trustees, a ‘Christmas Santa Raffle’ was included at the bingo night.

Hall spokesperson, Helen Bowyer, told the Post: “Having held a successful bingo event earlier in December and the Christmas one, we now hope to continue this on a fortnightly basis in the New Year.

“The hall is used by villagers and those living in the surrounding area for various functions, and can also be hired for parties, wedding receptions, etc.

“In December a ‘Christmas Vintage Tea’ was held, the proceeds from which also added to the current fundraising.

“A vast array of cakes, biscuits and savouries were served, along with mulled wine, by the fundraising team who were dressed in period costume.

“We have managed to raise enough funds to cover the installation of new electrical lighting.

“We sincerely thank all contributors and those who attended and helped us to raise the funds.”
