THE temperatures might have been warmer than they have been recently and the threat of rain was lurking in the air, but winter festivities have truly begun in Camelford with traditional Christmas themed fun in the town.
Cllr Rob Rotchell, the mayor of Camelford, said: “A large crowd enjoyed the annual switch on of our Xmas Lights and traditional fireworks display. The lantern parade was led by Father Christmas in his sleigh followed by Bodmin Town Band , the Town Mayor and many local residents.
“The lights were switched on by the Carnival Queen and her attendants. Kitty Crocker entertained us between the lights switch on and the fireworks with a medley of Christmas songs. A huge thank you to everyone that made it such a great success and in particular the Lights team who delivered a great display despite the awful weather they had to put up with while putting the lights up. Well done One and All.”
