A GROUP of villagers from Bridgerule ventured out of their homes on the evening of Wednesday, December 21, to take part in the traditional carol singing which has been taking place for at least eight years. Around 25 people, including children from ages seven to twelve, raised a top total of £147 which was divided equally between the church, chapel and school. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, the school's carol singing event was rained off the week before, but this failed to prevent organisers Chris and Rose Hitchings, who had been arranging the night many months in advance, from taking part.
