CHARGING is set to be introduced in a town council run car park.

Camelford Town Council has confirmed that it intends to resume charging residents for parking in its Churchfield Car Park from October 1.

It comes amid long running issues in activating the payment system and EV chargers in the car park after refurbishment work earlier in the year.

A spokesperson for Camelford Town Council said: “Parking permits for Churchfield car park will need to be renewed on or before October 1. The cost for one permit is £50.

“Additional permits are £150. To renew/purchase your permit please visit the Library during usual opening hours. Payment of Cash or bank transfer can be accepted.

“As you may be aware we have experienced delays with the activation of the EV chargers and ticket machine in Churchfield car park due to ongoing issues experienced by the contractor. They anticipate that the ticket machine will be operational by September 30, 2024. We will issue an update when enforcement of the car park is due to recommence.”
