EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD Army Cadet Corporal Lianne Seager has received an award for her actions during the visit to Holsworthy Livestock Market last year by Princess Anne.

Lianne, along with Lance Corporal Summer, 18, who received her trophy at the Cadet’s Christmas dinner, received her trophy from Detachment Commander 2Lt Jim Harvey at a recent cadet training evening.

The two Cadet NCOs supported and comforted a member of the public, who became unwell at the event, until professional medical assistance arrived.

First aid is one of many useful life skills that can be developed through membership of the ACF, which is open to young people of 12 to 18 years.

Holsworthy ACF is holding a recruiting evening at the community college on Monday, February 29 from 7pm to 9pm, so if you are aged from 12 years and would like to meet the cadets, see the kit and try out some of the activities, go along or call 2Lt Jim Harvey 07812 495229 for more information.
