BUDE-Stratton Town Council has announced the election of a new councillor.

This month, Bude-Stratton Town Council opened an election to fill the position in the Office of Councillor for the Bude Ward following the resignation of former councillor Katie Goode.

While positions are often filled by co-option, if the request for an election is received from at least 10 electors by the Proper Officer in Truro, an election will be held to fill the vacancy

Following the election process, the town council announced the uncontested election of Mr Michael George Jennings.

After the announcement, a number of residents took the opportunity to congratulate Cllr Jennings.

One said: “Fabulous, a local voice not afraid to speak out.”
