A COMMUNITY cafe based in Launceston has received hundreds in donations following a fundraising birthday bash.
On April 13, local residents Shirley Perryman and Pamela Townsend held a joint birthday party to celebrate their 80th and 84th birthdays while also raising funds for a good cause.
The pair asked attendees to donate to Launceston Memory Cafe, rather than bring gifts.
Launceston Memory Cafe, the first in Cornwall, opened in October 2007 and was set up to provide a regular amenity for people who were experiencing memory problems.
With more than 60 people in attendance, £280 was raised for the cause.
The pair have thanked everyone for their help in planning the event, as well as all who attended and donated.
