STUDENTS at a local school enjoyed an immersive open morning complete with a fun-filled ‘Bear Hunt’ theme.

The event at Launceston Primary School helped to showcase the innovative learning experiences available to pupils. As families arrived at the school hall, they were greeted by principal Mrs Eyre and assistant headteacher, Mrs Green. Visitors were then handed a map and children's stamp chart to guide them through the exciting Bear Hunt adventure.

Each room featured an interactive activity, including coding robots, a cooking class, engaging storytelling sessions in the library, and magnetic toys in the home room. For a thrilling twist, virtual reality headsets allowed the children to see bears moving around the school hall, while clay modelling of bear paw prints and a teleprompter activity in the school’s podcast suite rounded out the day’s adventures.

In addition to the successful open morning, Launceston Primary School is also hosting a community event offering an opportunity for local neighbours to visit the school, learn more about it, and ask any questions they may have.

The school is due to move to a new purpose built site shortly. The new building will be a brilliant asset to the pupils, staff and entire school community, all of whom cannot wait for a new chapter in Launceston Primary School’s adventure to begin.

Kate Eyre, principal at Launceston Primary School, said: “Whether attendees were considering joining our school community or already part of our family, this event was a memorable experience for everyone. We were thrilled to show everyone the wonderful learning journey we offer our pupils.

“All children have the right to a world class education which is rich in aspiration, experience, discovery, play and wonder - and that is what we deliver at Launceston Primary School.”
