DEVON and Cornwall Police have launched an appeal for information after a ‘serious assault’.
It was reported that a man was ‘attacked’ during the evening of Sunday, March 17, at a public location known as the bandstand in Bude.
A man described as being in his 60’s received a ‘significant’ head injury during the course of the attack, which is believed to have taken place between 8pm and 9pm. He was taken to hospital as a result of the injuries.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “A man in his 60s received a significant head injury during the course of the attack and was taken to hospital as a result.
“A man in his 40s was arrested and has since been released on police bail.
“Officers are keen to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident, or may have information that could aid the investigation.”
Investigator Tim Wright, of Liskeard CID, has said he understands there may have been a number of people in the area at the time of the incident who may be able to offer significant evidence to assist the investigation.
