A RADIO presenter and Britain’s Got Talent TV judge has set off from Bude in what could arguably be her biggest challenge yet.

Amanda Holden has previously completed a three peaks challenge, a ten-thousand feet skydive and climbing to the top of Blackpool Tower in challenges in aid of the Make Some Noise charitable campaigns by Global, where she works as the breakfast presenter on Heart.

However, her latest challenge began at her mother’s house in Cornwall on Monday, October 7, with the aim of cycling 250 miles from Bude to London.

Well wishers and locals lined the first part of the route, spanning from the start line in Bude to Holsworthy to cheer Ms Holden on her way as she sought to raise money for the campaign, which aims to change lives across the UK by funding vital projects delivered by small charities that tackle issues such as mental health, poverty and homelessness.

At the end of the first day, Amanda had reached Tiverton, her scheduled first stop at the end of the first day of the five-day event.

Amanda Holden said ahead of beginning her challenge: “I can’t quite believe that I’m going to be cycling over 250 miles from my mum's house in Cornwall to London for Global's Make Some Noise - it’s a massive challenge!

“I’m told it’s not going to be particularly flat so I’m gonna have buns of steel by the end of this! Knowing that every mile I cover will help raise funds for those local projects providing a lifeline directly to those who need it most is what will keep me going.

“Plus, I’ll get the nicest Cornish send off from my mum with a big cuddle! I can’t wait to see how much we can raise for Global’s Make Some Noise, I know we’ll get incredible support from our amazing listeners. Their generosity truly means the world, and together we can help those projects that make such a difference in their communities.”
