The much loved Badock Gardens in Holsworthy were given a spruce up recently to make them more accessible.

The Mayor of Holsworthy Cllr Helen Parker and Cllr Lyndon Piper on behalf of the rest of Holsworthy Town Council formally opened the recent works done to improve the disabled access and outside seating area at Badock Gardens.

GM Contractors and Roger Andrews Builders who carried out the works for the town council said: “We appreciate being awarded the contracts by Holsworthy Town Council to improve a very special and unique space which is Badock Gardens, the end result being much improved access and an updated facility for all residents of the town to use.”

The Mayor, Cllr Parker, explained: “The project to widen the paths to improve access for those that have mobility problems and to improve the outside seating area has been a project I have been very keen to promote as Badock Gardens is a lovely space in the town for those people that like a quiet and peaceful place to relax and unwind and enjoy the beautiful plants and flowers.

“It is hoped that by improving the paths many more people will be able to access the Gardens which were gifted to the Council many years ago. In the next few months the lighting in the Gardens will also be improved.

“Once this has been done the town council will be seeking funds to completely refurbish the sun lounge in the gardens improving the access to this also.”
